About Us

Finca Abril is a company founded in 1996 with the goal of producing small batches of high-end wines that are a unique expression of their terroir. The initial project was born on a small portion of an old Mendoza estate in the Uco Valley, with vineyards planted in 1922.

Excellent vineyards, suitable soils, wide thermal range, careful vineyard work, demanding oversight of the winemaking process, strict ageing and obsessive cellaring — these are the parameters that define the wines we begin to dream of each year.

The Winery

At over a thousand metres above sea level, located in the heart of our vineyards, stands our winery, which combines tradition with modernity. Its technology contrasts with its classic and simple architectural design, reminiscent of the old Mendoza wineries. It has a practical layout with spacious areas specially suited for each task. In our underground cellars, under ideal environmental conditions, surrounded by silence and dim light, our wines wait to reach the perfect moment to be offered to those who wish to share them.

The Estates

At over 1,000 metres above sea level, at the foot of the Andes mountain range, lie our vineyards in La Consulta and Altamira, in the Uco Valley. Fed by snowmelt waters and shaped by the wide thermal range of sunny days and cool mountain nights, they produce grapes of great character that faithfully express their terroir.

Finca La Consulta

At 1,034 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Uco Valley, lies our Finca La Consulta, home to historic Malbec vineyards planted in 1922. Our winery is also located on this estate, where we craft all of our wines.

Finca Altamira

Located at 1,010 metres above sea level in Altamira, one of the most prestigious areas of the Uco Valley, we cultivate our Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards trained on a trellis system. The combination of altitude, stony soils and mountain climate produces grapes that precisely reflect the character of this singular terroir.
